Doug joined Grant Samuel in 1991. He was CEO for eight years prior to becoming Executive Chairman. He has more than 30 years’ experience in investment banking, private equity and funds management. He has particular expertise in public and private mergers and acquisitions, and equity capital markets transactions. His experience spans all major industry sectors relevant to the Australian market.

Prior to joining Grant Samuel, Doug was an Executive Director of the Byvest Management Buyout Fund, a consultant at PCEK (now Boston Consulting Group) and an engineer in Australia and the United States.

He has served as a non-executive director and/or chairman on the boards of numerous privately held industrial and funds management companies. He was the founding Chairman of both GSFM (>$6 billion FUM) and Taurus Finance and a founding director of GS Private Equity (now Archer Capital).
